Košice, December 2 (TASR) - The World AIDS Day commemorated Saturday's candle march on Hlavná Street in Košice. It was organized by the Slovak Red Cross Youth (SČK), which also wanted to express support for people infected with HIV.


Three dozen young members of the SČK not only from Kosice, but also from Rožňava, Poprad, Prešov and Humenné gave people in the city center information leaflets and red ribbons - a symbol of the fight against AIDS. At the end of the march on the morgue column - Immaculate, they lit candles in the shape of ribbons.

"The candle march is organized 21 times in a row to honor the victims of HIV and AIDS, and also to remind us that there is no reason to discriminate against such people because they are already quite difficult in life,"said Ivana Drábiková, košická koordinátorka HIV / AIDS prevention, for TASR Ivana Drábiková, the Kosovo Coordinator of the HIV / AIDS Prevention Project
